hey guys gonna upgrade my old laptop...which laptops are u guys using? I need one that is powerful but not with a huge pricetag. And it needs to be reliable.

Depends on what you need as far as specs, screen size, ect....
I use a dell M90 preicision workstation but it is a bit pricy unless you are a reseller.

LMAO @ MAC.
I own a Gateway FX (which ever the more pricey model is) it's power and graphics kicks @$$ but weighs about 10lb which is really a B!tch.
I actually thought about buying a mac air for walking to class with lol... My FX is 17 inch screen so it's kind of big.
I think it was originally $1700 but i got the guy down to $1300 (haggleing + 12% student discount).
The best advice anyone can give you DO NOT BUY DELL... If anyone disagrees.... I have some naughty words for you. And probably more experience with fixing them for people then how long you will spend on the PC your whole life.

Yeah i have a dell laptop and i have problems with it. If the power cord moves slightly it turns off and since my brand new battery wont charge i often lose some work when my cat decides to play with the cord.

Toshiba is the most reliable. I have a Satellite model for the last 3 years and love it. I would wait till the new Windows 7 gets released though. I can't wait to combine the new Windows 7 with new line of Toshiba Satellite model. Go check out the Toshiba website. They have really affordable prices for the power you get.

I use an XPS M1730 as my primary laptop, and an Inspiron XPS Gen 2 as my secondary local fileserver/workhorse. I love both to death and they are the best things ever. I would highly recommend the 1730, but not any dells outside of the XPS line. The service I've gotten (and I've owned 3, starting with the very first Inspiron XPS) is unbeatable.
My arsenal is going to receive the addition of an x200t in a couple of weeks...just ordered the bad boy today with the funds I've made from BHing. I can't wait to put that sucker into action.

Wait till Windows 7 comes out.
Goes to show that Windows will never even equate/let alone acheive what Macintosh has, living proof that no matter what type of new OS version that windows creates its still gunna create more and more, and still possibly/probably suck, In my opinion WinXP is the best thing they've created. Don't get me wrong I like Windows, but only for being able to run scripts and programs being everything is .exe and not .dmg ; However as far as having an OS that totally dominates in terms of digital media, Mac blows Windows out of the water...besides your less likely to experience as many unexplainable crashes and incompatibilities as you might on a Windows PC.

i have this kind of laptop what i like about it is that its cheap and has a great design
however because it comes with vista and I got only a 1GB ram sometimes its very slow..especially when I run firefox and photoshop..
but still I can play most of the games I love..
