What language do you suggest for SEO Bots

I'm an Electrical and Computer Engineering student. From programming languages i know c,pascal,haskell and a little assembly. I did a lot of research to find out which language is the best for seo bots, and the most common suggestion were

1)C#
2)Delphi

I'm thinkinh about starting C# , but i have no idea where to start. I borrowed from my university library a book for C# but there was not a lot of information for http programming. Do you have any suggestion for a good book or ebook that i can use?

Also do you think that i should go for C# or for Delphi?

C# is easier, delphi is harder but more powerful I believe

Check out the tool scrapebox; it's coded in delphi with calls in assembly
Check out venom seo pro; it's programmed in VB.net, almost the exact same thing as C#
 
I guess you should concentrate on a language that can give you the fastest processing speed.
 
you can do a lot in VB.net

Delphi is another option

C++ could be another option

C# is very popular as well

I've never built a bot in my life thats worth anything but I started learning to do it about 3 weeks ago. I'm going with VB.net for now.

Scrapebox is pretty powerfull, perhaps delphi is the way to go, i cant choose :P
 
To be completely honest, you could use any language you wanted.
C# is a nice way to go, it is a simple language to learn/understand but it is very powerful being a (.)NET language.

Personally I love Java, hands down (in my opinion) the best language for everything.
BUT that said I find VB(.)NET very easy to create simple yet effective bots with VERY little effort, and it is also one of the easiest languages out there.

But whatever you decide to do, stick with it! Most people crash and burn because they hit one obstacle, just keep learning and you will be able to make whatever bot you want in whatever language!

I don't know why I keep hearing this? I guess it's just a popular misconception? Or maybe it's because of the fact that Delphi allows you to do some pretty complicated stuff people automatically think it's harder?

In any case, Delphi is much easier than C# syntax wise and at the same time allows you to do more (see my post here http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...net-starting-bot-programming.html#post3642115). The VCL is more robust than the .net framework IMO and the IDE simply can't be compared to anything else on the market.

Also, just for the record, Delphi is not a programming language - it's an IDE in which you program Object Pascal code in

So you're telling me SB was written in pascal?

They changed the name from Object Pascal to Delphi Language.
And if people say just Delphi they mostly refer to the language not the IDE.
 
c# Is great. It has its limitations, which I'm sure you'll run into. Great for getting you into the OOP mindset though, and there are a tons of tutorials and areas for help.

Who is they? I do understand what you mean when you say people refer to Delphi as the language, but there's a large number of people who still code in pascal/object pascal that don't use Delphi so my comment was really just for the sake of clarity. E.G. The large number of Lazarus users. The language is not referred to as Delphi in their community, or by any other group of people who use the language and not the Delphi IDE, so I am kind of confused when you say "they" changed the name of the language. If you mean Borland/Embarcadaro did in terms of the language used by the IDE Ok, I guess I get you there but it's still Object Pascal! :D
 
Delphi is easier than c#. That being said, I like them both but have focused on c# because I like using msvc# and it's easy to lay out UI methods. That is the ONLY reason I picked it over Delphi... (Though I may have overlooked any good compilers out there that do the same for Delphi)

The Delphi IDE itself does everything Visual Studio does and much more.
 
Well for starters the VCL is a lot more robust than the .net framework (IMO) - I don't want to start s programming holy war here, but in addition to that Delphi's database components are a lot more powerful than those of Visual Studio as well.

Of course the same can be said about Visual Studio/.Net having features that Delphi is mising, one of which is Coded UI tests, another is LINQ - the difference is that you can access any .net features you need to from Delphi by using something like RemObject Hydra or Atozed CrossTalk but you can't do the same thing the other way around. Far as I know there's no way to use anything from the VCL in Visual Studio.

Anyhow, they are both great, it's no coincidence that C# and Delphi were both created by the same person..
 
Don't listen to people when they say X language is more powerful than C#. At the end of the day C# can do pretty much anything non-managed languages can do (bit of technical wizardry involved though, this is actually true of any language that can p/invoke the windows api).

At the end of the day use what language you feel comfortable with. C# gets my vote because the .NET framework comes with loads of ready made functionality for dealing with the web, and also allows for you to use sockets if you need to. Not to mention the overwhelming support you can get with the community, theres over a quarter of a million questions tagged with C# on stackoverflow so the chances are if your stuck on something particular, it's already been asked/solved before.
