Let suppose if I want to rank in for single keyword like "thanking" .

Then which will have a better impact to get faster page one rank if someone searching for exact word "thanking". Is it:

    www.example.com/thanking

    Or

    www.example.com/thanking-us

The keyword itself won't be in the domain name. So which wuld be the better choice solely on this criteria?

I would just use the keyword, if you can, target the main page rather than an interior page.

Why add extra words to the URL if youre not trying to tank for them? It just makes sense to keep it simple.

Regarding the domain, I believe root domains rank better and easier than intrnal pages.
