    Hello people

I'm currently doing some keyword research for my first ever Adsense website.
While trying out different combination, I stumbled across a 2-words keyword that looks OK to use only to find out there are two major differences between the two possibilities

    - Possibily number one:

    Avg monthly: 33.000
    Competiton: Low
    CPC: $1.41

    - Possibility number two

    Avg monthly: 5400
    Competition: Low
    CPC: $21.71

As a newbie, I would much rather go after the money as $21.71 bucks looks more appealing versus $1.41. But does Google or any other search engine care if there's a space between the two words ? Does it make a difference ? Should I go after the small paying one with more searches ? Is there a way to go after both of them ?

I would very much appreciate your help guys!
Thank you, have a great day

this is a really good post! Both seem promising, why not try and rank for both? The higher volume of search usually is the best route to go, because with higher volume you have a higher chance of clicks.

Number one because you are not getting $21.71 clicks, more like $2.41 $3.20 with 5400 searchers advertisers are bidding big but getting few clicks due to low quality of niche. The first keyword is better you got more visits, 30-40 clicks per day $.80 $.60, you can make $30/day once you rank at top.

I hope by competition you do NOT mean Adwords competition shown in Keyword Planner. I can bet the REAL SEO competition is hard on those 2-word keywords, so unless you have some experience in SEO and money to invest, I suggest you do more keyword research and select other keywords.

At $1.41 PPC cost who not advertise on that term first and see if it brings in sales. Then go after it organically if it does.

Go for the first one and get more long tails to rank for. The secret is in volume.

I was told that adsense doesn't work like it used to. For example, in the past the ads which got displayed were relevant to your niche. Now, the ads that get displayed are relevant to the visitor. If they've just been looking at Shoes on another site, they will probably see shoes in the ads on your site. Try it out for yourself by visiting a few different sites in succession.

So if that's true. It means we can't really dictate what ads will be displayed anymore so that kind of keyword search isn't really valuable. Like the poster said up there ^ you'd be better off finding lower hanging fruit keywords from a different keyword tool.

I did not mean the competition on the GKP lol
I did research on long tail keywords.

    Example (Not the keyword):

    1: Homemade soap skin benefits
2: Home made soap skin benefits

Check the actual competition and the top 10 results for the keywords in Google. How is the competition there and what are the chances of you ranking for those keywords at the top of Page 1.

If everything else is similar, I would go for KW 1. I bet I can probably find long tails with higher CPC in keyword 1 which I would target simultaneously if I were you. In practicality, the chances of getting $20 or so in a click is a bit unrealistic. So, go for the higher search at least. And target long tails and less volume keywords first. They would be easier to rank. Then use keyword anchor to link back to the home page. If your long tail keywords rank well, the homepage would automatically rank better in the long run.

You already got a few answers from some good stuff. YES, It's true about keyword buying. You are using keyword planner, which keyword tool is providing CPC for advertisers, not actually for us. So, go with both of them. @THUNDERELVI replied very important things. You can follow his comments. :)
