I used to use Jaxxy - it's pretty damn smart but the subscription is pricey.

Ahrefs, manual list I created using notepad++, SEMRush, keyword shitter, KWFinder (although not really anymore) and my new favourite tool: twin words ideas. Of course everything requires a manual check after.

- Install mozbar
- Search for keyword
- Download results in CSV
- Plug the PA/DA numbers into a formula you can make with Excel/Sheets average all the results.
- You now have a KWFINDER comp score.

I was using Semrush before but now I'm using Ahrefs. It is so good to dig deep and find good keyword and has so many feature to use.
If you using it for a while then maybe you will have your own techniques to find keyword that fit your criteria.
For their KD tools (keyword difficulty), I just use it as consideration. Better to check serp manually and see what kind of site filled page one.
Drawback for me is their price is quite expensive. Sure you still can use it cheaply with "unethical ways".

Yeap I support G Keyword Planner as well - it can provide you with historic search data, and since they are already the largest SE, that should represent a large bulk of searched keywords as a whole.
However, I think they should add back the exact search traffic per month, and not displaying in-between data like 1k-10k, which I find it hard to gauge traffic.

I used many tools, from vertical (Long Tail Pro, Keyword.io, etc) to spy (Semrush, Ahrefs, etc).
But at the time I have much more results doing the job by myself through keyword planner and checking the suggested keyword by my searches directly in Google. I think those are more semantic related to my topic than some keywords extracted by some tools
