Well its really everyone's choice of what to do in their lives. After you eat and sleep you still got loads of time on your hands and its ones choice of what to fill it with. Problem these days is that TV, internet crap (like youtube) is considered an absolutely normal way of spending time (some even say you are some kind of weirdo if you don't waste your time that way) and after spending all your brainpower on these wastes you find yourself in weak state of mind aka. lack of motivation. Trick is to remove these time wasters from your life and motivation will to do something will come itself. Good diet and exercise helps as well.
