What Just Happened?

I just got this weird tagging scam hitting my account. I am not sure what is the benefit or will it cause me to receive more ghost followers.

I received 3 notifications from 3 different accounts which tagged me to the same photo from the same account. It had over 209K followers and it looked like a shout-out page of some resort. There were over 4k comments and most where in Arabic. Some of these comments contain users who are pissed off and ask to stop tagging them. When I clicked on the 3 different accounts that tagged me to the photo, it wasn't listed. Those accounts looks normal and low follower counts.

WTF is going on and should I be worried? The bunched of tagged names were bot generated as all the user name is similar to mine.

Yeah, I get this on my account very frequently. Nothing to be concerned about-- you can merely ignore.

Don't bother about that.,it may occur very often...

In my opinion perhaps that big account want you to like their picture or follow their account. so they use their small account tagged you on their picture

So it seems. It's weird too. The photo that my name was tagged isn't in the small account feed when I looked. However, the image is in the big account, but my name is not tagged in there. I think the small account had deleted it once the post was send. Just crazy going in loops. Since this post, I have not have this happened again. BUT, now I am getting fake accounts following me. So annoying and I want to know how I can prevent this.

Yes this happens ALL the Time. Just block the profile and they will not be able to tag you.
