Google made a "core update" as we know and they confirmed this past weekend . I can't say for sure what effect it had on my sites since I'm actively building links and they move up and down all the time and I can't contribute the change of rankings to the update or on the new links . What I've notice so far in the niches i track are 2 major losers - Reddit and DailyMotion .
KW #1 - 4200 searches, medium competition - a very active, informative subreddit was ranking steady on #3 for the past year, now it's down to #9. DailyMotion video was #4 for about 6 months - now on the bottom of page 2.
KW #2 - 1800 searches, medium competition - subreddit was #2 for ages now down to #14, DM video from #5 to bottom of page 2.

Same for a few others KWs and niches, looks like Google took out DM as it's a direct competitor to their YouTube. Other "parasites" like Tumblr and Blogger still rank the same.
Did you notice anything similar ?

I believe parasite sites in general are all down a little.

not much changes for me either, not sure if i am doing well though.

I saw a big change and I'm happy with that.

One of my sites was de-indexed more than a year ago and I had stopped building links, but never stopped adding content Was getting social traffic. To my surprise it's on page 2 and all the pages are indexed again.

Above all, the new posts are indexing within hours of adding.

Other sites are same at they were.

I'm really happy, cos it's one of my favorite sites to which I love write more and more.

This has been the quietest update so far, seems like Google is cracking on the competitors and might start pushing traffic to their own ventures like YT, bloggers etc?
