    Hey everyone,

Im new to this but working full time on trying to pull in some money from IM. Not going well so far but I keep battling away.

This is where I am at with my current project..

Selected a product on click bank in a diet niche, knew there was demand for the niche and went with the product that presented itself the best, no cheesy "lose 10lb in a day" type videos, just a solid well laid out sales page that had clearly had money invested in it, has lots of bonus offers, 60 day money back guarantee etc

Ran an ad on facebook direct linking to this sales page targeting 4 keywords in 6 countries and all ages and sexes..

After a day I analysed the results, i noticed there was a clear trend for what demographics were clicking on my ad and clear trend in what countries.

Next day ran adverts only to that demographic and only in the high clicking countries.

So far 24 clicks... zero conversions and my spend on advertising has exceeded what I will recover in a sale of the product.

    Is this campaign dead?

What would you do next in the testing process.

Im really trying to learn this and only way I can think of doing it is putting my step by step process out there to have if ridiculed ;-)

Well direct linking can be tough. If 24 clicks exceeds the amount you'd get as a commission you would need a really high conversion rate. the demographic you targeted needs to be the right age group for the product. Maybe try a different product, or try making a landing page that you setup an opt in and some more information on. Make a squeeze page. Track where your traffic goes.If they aren't buying check the targeting of your ads.

    Hey Deuce

    Thanks for the feedback.

Im not sure what you would put on a landing page, the direct link goes to a sales page provided by the vendor. Wouldnt it be a whole load of writing for a customer to go through to read my sales pitch then click through and read another load of guff from the main company before actually buying?

Thats whats always confused me a bit about landing pages

    Thanks

What are you paying per click? What is your CTR?

Keep all your stats organized in excel.

For things like this, it's really important to know your numbers.

Track your progress over time, add some charts and graphics for a different POV, and you should have enough data to optimize going forward.
