What is Your Most Efficient and Quickest Way to Gain Authority?

In the days of everyone believing that it takes months on end (if not a full year) to gain any authority for a site....

What do you think is the most efficient and fastest method(s) for a site to gain authority? I mean REAL authority, not a stat of some BS metric that fools drool over. I mean like when true longtails rank with no links because the site has REAL authority.

Just interested in hearing some opinions on this from some others. I already do plenty of stuff myself and have some decent success on some larger sites. Just trying to lower the timeframe even more.

Buying HQ guest posts is probably best solution, because those links are usually ones that are most "whitehat". Think about it, blog comments, bookmarks, social signals, and many kind of other links don't help that much. I mean sure they can, but for keywords with higher competition, you can't just rank with those. You need stronger links. Today I wouldn't use something like SAPE links etc, it seems to risky, people are getting banned more and more. Now sure you can find good links, but because they are monthly, it doesn't seem worth it to me. That leaves you with Guest posts and PBN. Also web 2.0 can be very strong, but if you treat them like real site. Over time they can became very powerful.

Of course don't forget to optimize anchors, use as much different keyword as you can, don't use your main keyword more then few times, use lsi, generic etc, this is especially important if you are doing black hat SEO. Try to keep everything look natural.

Also, PBN are probably cheaper and faster solution to ranking and having autorithy in google's eyes, but for 1K$ you can buy 10 good guest posts links on sites such as lifehack.org, engadget etc, which when you combine them with good tier 2, can become very powerful.

Build websites around the larger market of a niche and have them link to each other. Once you introduce a niche within this market, you already have other websites with authority that can give you back-links. I find this the most effective and fastest method. The downside of guest posts is that you have to 1) pay for it, 2) it is often not within your niche or even market.
 
Fastest way I have found to gain "authority" is 3 steps:
1) build a solid social sharing ring around your site, get your posts, videos, images shared and out there to others. Use SNAP, IFTTT, hootsuite, everything, share and keep it being shared.
2) real guest posts, not some guys PBN, that he calls "guest posting", and charges more for fewer posts, I'm talking high powered guest posts. I run a consulting business outside of here, getting real, honest guest posts on Inc and small biz journal helped my site move up in rank, and people found me easier.

Guest posting on high authority sites as mentioned works well, although can be difficult. What about buying an established or expired domain? Checking that its not been used for Pharma or adult, checking backlink profile to check that its aligned with your requirements?
 
Getting backlinks from high authority sites will be one of the best option to achieve what you are looking for. Those links pass decent link juice and it will add more value to your backlink profile.
 
There are no "tricks" to gaining REAL authority, so don't expect to find any shortcuts here.

You become an authority by providing the most up-to-date, relevant and useful content in your niche. Simple as that.

It could take months, maybe years, depends on the niche and how good you are in what you do - rarely anything to do with link building.
 
Here are some of the things that can help increase your site authority:

* a proper site structure
* high quality and properly optimize content
* update your content and add relevant content
* on-page and off-page SEO
* Site speed
* high quality internal backlinks
* get backlinks from high quality sites
* blog outreach
 
In my opinion:

1)domain age
2)contents quality and engagement status
3)site type (small or large site)
4)how many "power" sites referring the target site, maybe co-citation?
5)google whitelist (no doubt only specific sites can sit in, like wikipedia e.g.)
 
The sites you are talking about - like angies list - are effectively recognized by google as authority websites. So until you build one you cannot do it.

But depending what your site sells and provided your site / product etc is all set up and legit. A press release is the next best thing. You will get loads of High Quality back links etc from authority sites, which passes down to your site, usually within 24 hours.

Then depending on the longtail KW competition, if your site doesn't rank the press release with the link to your site probably will.

It is a classic quick way people sell products on Amazon.

Easy way, quicker method to rank, never gets to the Authority for the sites. Legit Link building White hat Techniques are step by step process and it must be recurring, if you really have to sustain. High quality contents linking from the Top Authority sites and Guest posts will be most useful method.

Wouldn't this be noticed by google? I would love to do it but I worry that they punish us..also, if you have done it from where would you buy these domains? (I hope not go daddy)
 
It takes years to gain authority, don't confuse authority with rankings.

Ok good point. I was talking about rankings then....I'm talking about ranking for longtails with nothing but interlinking (a silo site) with juice flowing down from the main page/category pages. That probably sums it up best.
 
Its simple, get links from authority sites in your niche to pass on some authority and guest posts would be the best way around it.
 
  • Content should be unique and useful to your target audience. It should be well-written and well-structured.
  • Make your site look professional as possible, easy to navigate, fast, and mobile-friendly.
  • Build Quality links and remove bad links on a regular basis
  • Do social media marketing
  • Increase brand awareness/Engagement/Trust
  • Build relationship
  • Offer An Easy to Browse User-accessible Sitemap
  • Keep the Average Number of Links on Pages Within A Limit
Your site's authority is just a metric how useful your site is, don't force it, just continue doing your home work and you will get there in time.
 
Try to get more links from high DA sites,it will help to increase the authority soon.
 
IMO,Good quality content and Guest post from high popular sites will be helpful to gain authority.
