I works for almost nothing. BUT, there are some countries were media uses that score to "stuff". I've got listed in the "100 most influential people in social media". LOL. That got me some contacts that I used.

I'm actually popular on Twitter. I think that's it. BUT, I'm researching and experimenting on how to game it. I'll let you know my conclusions.

Get facebook account with 5K friends, get twitter accounts with 100K followers, get Linkdin profile with a 1K+ connections, get Google+ profile with a few K connection.
You will have 60 up to 80 Klout Score I reckon. I have not tried this, but thats my feeling.... I have not real reason to get it up to that amount.
