What is your favorite backlink checking tool?

I personally think that you shouldn't rely on one tools. I always do crosschecking in 3-4 other services.
 
Other than ahrefs you may try majesticseo and opensiteexplorer.
 
Your question is similar to asking which exotic sports car is the best? Lamborghini (Open Site Explorer); Ferrari (Majestic SEO) or Porsche (Ahrefs)?

Tough decision, my suggestion is to test drive them all!

Opensite gets updated about as often as 30 days...

Ahrefs might go AWOL on you for 48-72 hours at a time and have problems picking up spam links.

Majestic - I never fucking understand why it fluctuates so much compared to opensite/ahrefs.

I agree that you should test-drive them all, but in all honesty you might as well jump on ahrefs and know you're getting the most regularly updated link checking tool. I use them all, but ahrefs is definitely a difference maker.

SERPWOO is a baller tool which you may or may not have use for, but nonetheless check it out.
 
Ahrefs would pick up links quickly and report the majority of them. Next would be majestic, open site explorer is lazy and does not report spammy links.
 
I use OSE and I try to get used to Openlinkprofiler.
 
Ahrefs and Majestic SEO are best tools IMO. Also, my favorite.
 
I use aherf, Majestic SEO, opensiteexplorer.
The 1st and 2nd are better.
 
It is good to use multiple backlink checker tools/software. This is just to get a general idea of how many indexed backlinks you have. The ones that are mentioned in this thread are
ahrefs.com
opensiteexplorer.com
MajesticSEO
OpenLinkProfiler
Ranksignals.com
SerpWOO.com

Choose wisely.
