Couple of days ago i purchased a domain on namecheap.. few minutes later i purchased some web hosting. after that i redirected nameservers to hosting.. setup wordpress etc..

i check my site shortly afterwards and see thre is some BS Sedo landing page on there..

It's almost as if i've bought a domain that was unavaliable or something?

Once I bought a domain and it took 7 days before it updated to my website.

This was an expired domain though. When ever I've tried with new domains they've usually updated pretty quick, think the longest was close to 48 hours.

Generally domain name resolving happens from few minutes to few hours, but 24 hours or so later is way too long. Need to move registrars.

Domain registrars could be mixed sometimes, so your website has same registrars = to 100000 other sites on namecheap.

Wait for 72 hours and check again.

Have you setup DNS on your domain properly ( change them to your host's )?

I've never had to worry about this before..

ill check it out now though, thanks.

i don't see any issue here, unless if it still shows the domain parking page :), it's perfectly fine what you saw if it was shortly afterwards you updated the nameservers, however if you still see that, then check what someone mentioned above, that you set up the correct DNS servers and it also can be that you're looking at a cached state of your domain, clear your cache or check it with a different browser, a different machine, your mobile etc.

OMg it's drivin me insane..

If i use my mobile phone with my home wifi it comes up as my website.
If i use my mobile phone with my sim card 4g data.. it comes up as that shitty sedo landing page again

Its just the DNS caching. DNS servers ask each other for a cache time when they resolve a record. The expiry time for the cache is set by the authoritative name server. So if the Authoritative name server says that you should cache this record for 72hours then it means that the asking nameserver will not query the authoritative name server for 72 hours for that domain.

Now it just happens that for some nameservers that time has expired and for some of them not yet. Just wait... or try something like https://asm.ca.com/en/ping.php to see how the world resolves your domain.

what i mentioned above, i think you did everything right and it's only you who see it that way, because of cache/DNS resolving issue on your side and anybody who would visit the link, will see your site and not the parking page, it's already resolving correctly

you can check it through webproxies just to make sure or ask a friend or two to check it for you

Happens all the time - it's probably refreshed now and cached on your computer. Try accessing it from your phone/tablet/other computer.

Also if it is just for your pc flush the cache of your computer:

Start > Run > cmd

and type:
ipconfig /flushdns

i opened up tor.. kept checking and changing identities..

5 times it was sedo landing page.
1 time it was my website.

fcuking ridiculous.. it's 2016.. not 1998 this shouldn't be happening anymore

paid for domain and hosting 24 hours ago and still cannot use it..
