What is video hosting?

I'm trying to figure out how to run my own tube site, and I thought I might need a place to host my videos. Should I get another VPS, just storage optimised? Can a site run on two VPS? Should I get a streaming server (and what the heck is that)?

Can someone clarify video hosting to me?

If we're talking about an adult tube sites. Here is what I would do:

- get myself 1 dedicated server for video storage
- get multiple VPS's for faster video conversion
- get pretty fast VPS for hosting the website files or script files.

All of this to improve performance of your tube site.

Dedicated server should be in your target location (country). If you're targeting USA, get a server in USA.

Of course you can organize everything on your own dedicated or VPS service, but better to the search for that specific kind of hosted solution. I believe there is separated industry for this kind of hosting and specific providers have turnkey solutions (depends on your needs) for video streaming sites.
I'd recommend you to research such solutions.
