It seems loads of sites out there are on wordpress is there a huge advantage to this CMS than say drupal, joomla, simple etc. Just wandering as i am going to build a new site and would like a better insight from someone who knows more about SEO than i.

Cheers

in my opinion its because wordpress is so versatile and extremely easy to setup and maintain .. and with all the different plugins, seo ultimate, etc, its just very easy to optimize for seo :P

but i am kind of biased as i havent used drupal or joomla all that much :P

Thanks Dubbletoke, some great info there. I do wonder if there is anyone with good experience of more than one CMS who still uses Wordpress?

Hence I used to setup sites in Joomla, Drupal and other platforms as well, I'd say with confidence that WP is:
- the easiest to setup and maintain
- the easiest to be customized for various needs (CMS, web shop, blog, mini site ...etc)
- the easiest to be optimized for SEO (in-page optimization)
- very helpful and large community support
- a loooooot of free and useful plug-ins and themes
- rapidly updated and upgraded, so you kept almost safe
.... endless list can go here!

I have used wp, few paid CMS and few custom coded for my work... WP is not my favorite one but it def offers flexibility. It's very easy to use, free solution and got good number of third party plugins for different addons...

It's widely used script and lots of people in WP community is developing solution for it on regular basis...

WP is damn good.

Think about expanding and having a solid platform to add modules etc.

Google loves wordpress because its free, easy to use, easy to blog and add fresh valuable content on google. In my opinion Thesis wordpress theme rocks. If you do it right you will rank faster than anything out there white hast style.
