I am still not sure if google really looks for unique content or not .... i actually think it does not.

but i want to be on the save side and start to generate unique content for my tier 1 links as well.
how exactly is google or software detecting unique content?
how much must be different thta it will not be duplicated content?

thanks

nobody any idea ?

as far i did read google is looking for close domains which will be in a array to check for dupicated content in this array only. i would be way to time consuming to compare all the pages.

so for tier 1 links its the question how they will handle wikis for excample. are all wikis in one array .. because if not they will never have duplicated content issues.

if someone had some clue about that i would appreciate a posting here.
i am working on the unique content generator for my tier 1.

the other question is which i am interested in how far google can check the quality.
i dont think that they can check if a article is good written. just if it has mistaks in grammer.
or i am wrong on that ?

Google's not penalizing for dupe content right now. Because of the nature of their current algo they really cant combat dupe content. Just change the keywords in the title/description meta and then chop up a few well written related articles and mix them together.

Dont word or sentence spin though.

Yes, it doesn't just have to be unique it has to be valuable. Google looks more at bounce rate and length of visit then what the content is. And remember, there is a big difference between dupe content and syndicated content.

Google's algo is very complex in terms of how it does comparisons. Most technical SEOs think it's based around 4-7 word clusters. Look for posts by 'madoctopus', as he's done some fairly in-depth explanations around what we think Google does, but no-one knows for sure.

But hyper-spun content built from massive structures containing paragraph, sentence and word-level spinning are the only way to get large-scale content distribution indexed these days.

do you really thunk taht chrome browser send info about time on site?

There is no doubt in my mind that unique content works better than duplicated content.

Time & time again everyone on this forum repeatedly uses "content is king" there is a reason behind this, Google will reward you for giving them such unique content to add to their search engine & once you do this WHOOPS up you go in the rankings.

I don't think Chrome is needed for Google to know this kind of information.

For the OP, if a page is linking to your website, make sure the content on both are different as much as possible. Also one of the thing you need to keep in mind is that if your website becomes valuable to a lot of people and you succeed on ranking for multiple "hard to get" keywords, you might be subject to manual review.

Since Google has backlinks information, it wouldn't take them long to search all linking pages for duplicate content.

Everything revovles around the content, and obviously google does check content, it has always been checking. Unique content is the one that is not copied.

as far as i know - which is not much - your spot on abrigado.
Latent semantic analysis its called - and you can bet G has a super-sophisticated set up to address complexity issues (array size; O(n^k^^2))
Everyone knows the way its going...G doesnt want to leave any money on the table anymore than we do

I have had an entertainment website for 7 years. I post a LOT of press releases and I don't bother to change them. It doesn't seem to be a problem. If you click on a Yahoo trending link you will find there are numerous links with basically the same text.

I bought a website, setup an autoblogg AND completely forgot that I bought it. It was posting the title and first paragraph of the article. A year later I noticed the url on my Cpanel. It had traffic and I found it was PR1 blog.

So I think it depends on what you are writing about.

To be safe, unique content is important to stay away from any possible penalize from Google.

Google works with ngram (words cluster) of X words.

http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...optimization-if-you-dont-read-understand.html

Basically, Google will map your keywords (genuine sense of it) from ngrams in a conceptual map. Example in the post below :

http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...r-4-weeks-full-method-inside.html#post3828691

It will be considered as duplicated if the concepts and their glue concept are the same; but as you can understand, it is quite easy to be different. The missing data is what is the unique % they are taking into consideration to say that 2 texts are duplicated.

You may want also to look for the stop words. (words which aren't taking into consideration in the conceptual map.) It is easy to define them as when you type a phrase in the search engine the stop words aren't in bold in the results parsed.

Here is a list :

unique content, pass copyscape..
i think, hard to write something new or make a new keyword..
so i just rewrite article and check it in copyscape.com ..

Copyscape has ZERO to do with Googles uniqueness check. For instance, we now know google checks Ngrams and attributes meaning to common ones and understand when one Ngram "means" the same as another in many cases even though it is created with entirely different words.

This would pass copyscape and fail dismally in Google.

Scritty

I hope you are right, i will give it a shot and will write some unique content for my site.

Google does not care if content is unique or not. Google cares that the content is quality. They just have a hard time defining exactly what quantity content is.

They do penalize for duplicate content, but duplicate content is the same information on multiple pages of a single site, not the same content on multiple sites, which is syndicated content.

You can copy anything you want and rank it if you have a quality site. Someone else may squeal about you using their content but Google could care less.
