i guess there is nothing different all you need to do is to do the old thing in the right and effective way. that is like build links only with quality sites with high PA DA and other related features..

1. 100% unique content
2. Relevancy
3. High PR links most preferably from the domain with little or no outbound links.

Don't sacrifice the quantity for the quality. Quality Back links from Blog commenting, forum posting, Bookmarking and directory are still best source for link building.

I personally believe that it's better to have people link to you than getting a lot of backlinks. To achieve them both, you need to focus on creating genuine and high quality content.

If you really want to stay ahead, think like Google. What does a link represent? It represents one human being vouching for the quality of a website. In 1997, the best reliable way to do this was to count links and weight them based on their source. Blogging platforms got popular, there was more data and more room for abuse, so they kept doing their best.

Now Google hasn't changed what they're looking for. They still want to tally and weight votes from people, but where are the people? There are a fuckload more on the social media sites than there are on the web. Not only that, but if you have good content social media metrics are A LOT easier to build than web links ever were.

TL;DR stop thinking "links" and start thinking "votes". Who they're from still matters.

Yep, you are absolutely right dude. If we can make blogs with 100% unique articles with relevant niche and without any spam links then not need to worry about any updates. Google loves such a things always....

Of course, links obtained via providing content is the best link as of now, you can use guest blogging, article submission, forum posting etc.... but make sure they are relevant too.

All I can say is you need to have diversified backlinks .Get backlinks even from social media, it looks natural to Google and you will not be slapped by it.
