Sorry if I post this in wrong place.

I saw someone posted a link on FB , the link is shortened and it's redirected to a blogspot site.
It prompts to install extension for youtube HD video, but I know it's not true.
I am very curious what is this for, is it a virus or trojan. Does anyone know about this?

    Read this:

    Code:
    http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/facebook/389669-fb-secret-how-i-bank.html
Please edit out the URL. You could be outing a BHW member (against forum rules).

Don't see why it would be illegal to post a BHW members website here. I know many people frown upon it, but I really can't see why. If people are that concerned, they need to learn to hide their tracks better. Do you have a quote of a post or something where I can see it is against the rules? Basically, if that was against the forum rules, we would never be able to link to any site.

I am quite sure there are MANY Google and YouTube employees who are Jr. VIPs here, but we discuss them daily.

Because Jon, the owner of this site isn't asking for any publicity. It's one thing to post a link for yourself, it's completely another for someone else to do so. He probably doesn't want the attention, as who knows who reads around looking to patch things quicker. Just a couple weeks ago someone posted someone's youtube channel and it was banned >2 days, most likely due to being posted here. Some people like keeping a low profile.

I don't think the site belonged to a member here anyways. It appeared to be some sort of spyware installation. I tried to install it from several computers, but it blocked me because I was not from an accepted country. I won't try to install it on my main computer.

It is set to install an extension on other Chrome or Firefox browsers.

No, it blocked you because you were trying to do a CPA download from a country the advertiser didn't want. Spyware doesn't discriminate. That's not saying there isn't a rootkit or anything to be installed, but that's usually the goal with these types of scripts.

In the very beginnings of BHW, such websites had their own section, and then there was a now buried sister site to discuss that. I'm not sure when it was, maybe all that went really underground about 2009-2010, but I wouldn't be surprised if that website belonged to a BHW member.

    EDIT-

    Forgot this part:

There used to be a sticky about it, now I see it's not part of the official rules, or at least I got tired of the wall of text, however I believe it's still considered bad (forum) etiquette. Not that it grants punishment or anything, but more of a "I wouldn't want my methods to be exposed like that either" kind of thing. Also, some methods die rapidly once they're outed in the public forums.

Edit- Found it!. I knew my mind wasn't playing tricks on me. It WAS a sticky thread, and the rule was pretty much inforced/cited. I removed the info about the now banned mod, but look at the date. The thread has now disappeared, probably because of said ban. Look:

    ------- Screenshot Start -------
    [IMG]
    ------- Screenshot END -------

It used to be an observed rule, or courtesy, if you want to call it that way, that's why it stuck with me.

    :)
