Today I noticed a guy who was ranking his YT channel profile page very high for a high competition keyword, how is he doing that? Like his username was just a wacky name, but then the top of his channel page had text different from his username which was getting picked up in Google as the title for the search result.

Your YouTube username and channel name can be diffrent because google decided to connect everyone's google plus/gmail account to use your real name as your username so you can set a channel name instead of showing your username.
 
To be specific with what I mean, here is a channel to use as an example http://www.youtube.com/user/amima the top banner on this page that has amima beside the subscribe button, well on this channel I speak of instead of that they have this long text with the keywords they aimed for. Which is also listed on the About section on the right side of the page.
 
When you first create an account there's an option to create a channel name which is what that is. If you already have an account created then I think you're stuck with "Jimmy Wackanut" as your thing at the top. So create account > prompt to use channel name instead of real name > fill in your keywords

How can he be ranking so astonishingly quick? How did he get ranked up there? Can someone tell me so I can make as much money as he is?
 
if you don't share the profile, noone can investigate it for you...I understand that you don't want others to find out your niche, but still. you need a helping hand, but you don't want to say anything about the subject you need the help about....it's like...you want to know the answer for 5 + 5 = ?, but you ask for basic math explanations instead of asking the question...as for your blind question, the answer is backlinks.

Probably buying Fiverr YT gigs, LOL I have seen people sell 10,000 views for $5. It wouldn't be hard to rank that fast.
 
He is talking about that guys channel ranking 1st in google for some competitive keywords.not a video.
 
Sorry if I was confusing anyone, basically what I wanted to know is how he is ranking his main channel page so high in Google for a really competitive keyword. I accidentally discovered this page ranking, and it stood out to me because I have never seen a channel rank like that in Google for such a keyword. But I really don't use YouTube much lately so I'm really no YT expert at this point.
 
Maybe he is just building backlinks. Check with ahrefs.com .
