Wordpress is a GPL licensed software. So are the plugins and themes associated with it, no matter what people tell you lol. There's no "piracy" involved, technically.

good marketing, thats what it is. i have a lifetime membership so festinger mails usually mean nothing to me, and i ended up clicking and reading anyway. i always enjoy reading these unusual but highly effective emails
