Hi guys, I've been posting Youtube shorts on a new channel for 1 month now. The shorts on average get 1.3k views and fair amount of engagement. 57% of users choose to stay and watch the shorts video while the rest only watch a small part and swipe away. My question is, how can I get out of this 1.3k jail? When will it reach 5k? 7k? 10k?

I have old warmed up channels, does commenting on my shorts using my old channels help it boost? What is your experience that worked?

Currently I edit videos on PC, then I upload the video through my phone (unlisted) and then I go to YT studio app and edit the description of the shorts then upload the shorts publicly

post something that can go viral, like clips from kai cenat, ishowspeed or ai story scripts etc do a little research about what kinda content people watches and upload similar shorts. next is keywords, relevant keywords or trending keywords would work. then uploads, keep uploading shorts daily YouTube algorithm pushes few shorts and few doesn't.

Try something different, the problem is the content itself, not good enough to break this barrier and go viral
There's nothing wrong with your account

Follow these....
Try a stronger hook in the first 2 seconds
Post when your viewers are most active
Use trending sounds or topics
Keep watch time high, avoid slow intros
Commenting from old channels might help a little
Stay consistent, growth takes time

If you have uploaded already 10-20 shorts and if your still stuck in 1-2k views then the best thing is to delete these videos and upload it a new channel. Sometimes certain channels never break out of those low views and it has nothing to do with shadow ban, it's just how the youtube algo works. So upload these videos in a new channel and yes make sure your shorts are made on trending topics.

If you have 1.3k viewers, that’s actually not that decent but you are doing better then the other people who stayed at 500 views.

open up guest account or incognito and open up YouTube, sort today, sort views. Open one video and scroll down and stop if you got interested and identify what is going on and what’s the hook. If you can’t find it, you can use Google Gemini to identify it for you.

Then replicate that or get inspired for your next shorts

Why do you upload the shorts from your phone? Is there any difference if you upload them directly from your PC?

Youtube launched Shorts MAINLY for it to be done on your phone so most people highly suggest you edit the videos on your computer and then upload it from your phone. Before uploading the shorts, unlist it, then go to YT studio app, add the relevant information in the description, and then publish

Competition is tough now a days so you need to be patient . Do not go for fake views else your channel may be at high risk. Create more shorts with unique content.

I agree with this. You should create shorts with unique content - not just original content (self-made videos) - but videos with ideas that haven't been explored yet. You should do that, even when you are riding on a trend. That will get people talking about your channel and can increase your view count.

hitting that 1–2k plateau is super common, especially for new channels. what helped me was testing different hooks in the first 1–2 sec and switching up posting times. using old channels to comment with legit engagement (not spammy) can help a bit too. keep testing, one video can break the pattern.

What niche does the channel belong to ?

Improve your hook, post daily, use trending sounds, and stick to one niche. Repost top shorts and engage with comments. Growth can spike anytime—stay consistent.

You're on right track! To break out of the 1.3k views, focus on making the first 2 seconds super catchy. Repost top performing shorts with a twist, comment from old accounts naturally. and post when your audience is most active. One viral short can change everything-Just keep joing.
