what is the purpose of web20?

Its often advised to build web20 to a new website. What is the reason for building those cause as far as I know they got like 0 value in terms of link juice. Isn't it actually waste of time?

If done right they do add some value, not as much as a website link thou. I usually get mine from @seoestore (13 cents with logins) and add more content later.

They do help me pushing the ranks on search engines and are a part of link diversification.

Hey Web 2.0 Links not a waste of time it is give you good boost for your website. You have to build them with good designs and quality content.

I am ranking low comp. niches with almost web 2.0s alone... So it pass link juice pretty well.

Assuming time is money then building web20 yourself manually is a totally waste of your time and money. They get you like 0.05% boost and are complately not needed in your link profile.
