Im sure we all have heard horror stories

or had horrible experiences

From mattress companies sueing Bloggers

to Discord groups that established a no fly zone in their niches where they negative SEO attack all new blogs.

I want to know from you all, what is the most toxic Niches you have encountered?

I mean, these arent new things but if you are new to blogging, just know companies can sometimes get mad at you and sue.
In some niches you will find yourself getting emails to take down content, you will get served legal papers for opinions you posted that a company didnt like.

You will also get pain if you out rank certain brands for their own keywords.

so sometimes you see a keyword has low difficulty, only to find out it is because some brand keeps treatening every company to post on it with legal action.
Ive had this happen with a critical review I did of a retirement home before. Along with many other things over the years.

My review was 100% honest that the place was borderline not good and they took it personally.

long story short some niches got companies and people who are crazy.

god forbid you try to rank for some keywords in certain niches on a new domain in high ticket niche.

Some people will do negative SEO and blast your page with so much link spam you

practically need to abandon domain, and god forbid aweful humans blast your site with

AI traffic to shut down your adsense with ban.

Meanwhile in other niche you get no bad actors, and even your competitors wish you luck and rather be friends.

I want to know about the toxic ones though.

SMMA always have drama too lmao, probably one of the only niches where regular content is to bash everyone else in the same niche.

The moment I see a decent method with low barriar to entry go up on big channels, I feel like it is practically dead.

Unfortunately, some people will do anything for money, no matter how distasteful or illegal.
There are many toxic niches that I would stay away from, and not all of them are on the dark web.

From my experience SMMA, can be pretty dynamic at times. Especially the 'fake engagement/follower' part of it, I would say.
 
I had some really bad experience in some niches. I will share my second top, it was recliners niche few years back. It got to the point, there were some abusive email exchange with competitors, neg SEO, DDos attacks. In the end I left that niche after fucking top 20 results for main keywords. It was fun.

I actually liked doing that (mostly yt views though), did that for a while locally, very easy hustle if you're just reselling. The problem is local auction site (ebay isn't very popular here) started banning everyone who sold views, so then you lost all traffic/sales if you didn't do this on your website. And for doing this on your website you'd have to learn how to not get banned on google ads or switch accounts regularly or whatever and I'm not sure how to do that (get my ads approved in that niche). So yeah, a bit tricky with the traffic part, but service delivery is easy af (since you're just reselling shit basically). Freelancing/pseudo-agency is the exact opposite, I can get traffic easily for free but then clients want crazy complicated stuff. I mean of course I want to provide good service since I'm trying to build something stable, but literally had a clinic that wanted me to rank them 1st on google for penis enhancement after 1 month, so yeah... Their budget wasn't stellar either. I had clients from Poland (currency is about 4 times weaker than Euro) that wanted me to get them impressive results when doing google ads campaigns for Germany while their ad spend was tiny AND in polish currency (so 4x weaker than german competitors).

Hmmmmm tell me more about it, is fake engagement common in smma? Because when I get clients on fb for example, I do get clients but it's crazy hard to get followers and I see other freelancers and small agencies have the same problem. The only companies that I saw had reasonable amount of fanpage followers were either smm panels (so they just used their own fake follower service, lol), companies that run paid ads or 1 company that is recruiting all the time (so followers were jobseekers, not clients) AND runs paid ads. Idk about yt, etc, since I never had a channel with my face in it *shrugs*.

I had faceless yt channels and had the exact same problem, keywords were 'low competition' because 2 guys (another affiliates, not any brand, etc) keep throwing fake copy strikes at everyone, basically taking channels down. Got banned so many times in a row that I basically had to stop and 'went to work' (ie. freelancing, working with clients). I wish I could do yt seo/aff again or maybe google seo (but yt vids rank soooo fast) but idk how to get back to it without getting banned out of the planet. How you guys solved your problems? How do you pick keywords that are still profitable but your content stays up? Keyword tools don't have 'don't post here, you'll die from negative seo' alerts in them ugh.

That sucks man, sorry you had to experience that.

Thanks for sharing aswell. In my experience in SEO, I feel that in many niches and places you can slip under the radar long enough as you have no chance at ranking
for some of the best keywords in the start. This is why for most websites by the time you even start noticing them, they have traffic.
I say it is a mix of getting lucky etc. If people were trying to protect a specific set of searchs they would have an infinite amount of websites
they need to knock down over time so many times you might only be targeted if your whole website is deemed as a threat to them.
Also, them taking down a single of your pages with spam doesnt always make the whole website have issues, so sometimes you
might not even notice, you would only see you have a lot of spammy links to a specific page and think it was just bad at ranking in general.

Even in niches im watching all year round randomly DA 20 + sites ive never seen in the niche before would pop up out of nowhere.
Many competitors will only get noticed once they are big enough that your tools tracking the whole niche notice them, but while they are small
its unlikely to see them in the pot of 1000 other small websites.

Once you get big enough, your website can absorb a lot of negative SEO without issue.

The thing I think is probably the worse is getting your ad accounts banned by people sending fake traffic, because it doesnt matter if
you are ranking anymore if you cant make money.

My bad, was kind of vague. I meant primarily "social media marketing automation". There's several types, but the most popular ones are the ones that sell fake engagement and/or followers. Heard stories including DMCA attacks and sending spam traffic & spam signups with emails.
