Last year it was 10,000, the year before, 300 words (Different sources and studies)
I also try to always use more words that all my competitors. It really depends. Doing more than your competitors is a good starting point too![]()
Hi, it depends, if you target to rank on Google SERP, you will need to compare your competitor's word counts to write the content, you want to be at least the same or more. If you target traffic outside Google, you don't have to write a very long post, there is no exact word counts, it's totally up to you.Last year it was 10,000, the year before, 300 words (Different sources and studies)
Oh. Nice thought! Thank you so much!So many different answers.
I don't personally feel there is a set minimum, but I always try and stick to 1k as it's hard to cover a meaningful subject in any less.
That being said, I, unfortunately, don't think Google is yet smart enough to realise that even if you write 100 words and it answers the question perfectly, you won't outrank someone that writes 1k words on the subject.
Take a look at a few SERPs, you tend to find that our of the top 10 pages, 7-8 of them have similar length word counts - write that much.
