Please search the forum, this question is asked more than any other:)

Well at least the OP didn't start out saying he need to make X amount of dollars in a week.

There are a ton of threads on this topic, Happy searching and good luck.

Complete noob here, my understanding is that blackhat methods is a quicker but less orthodox way.

So you joined a blackhat forum just to ask what blackhat seo is with your first post? Priceless!

White hat SEO is usually used as a synonym for rationalizing inefficiency.

People think that if they spend 20 minutes building a web 2.0 property that they're "white hat" when the reality is just they spent 20 minutes doing what a black hatter could do in 15 seconds. There are things better accomplished manually (no question), but most of the things people consider to be "white hat" aren't.

How about he joined BHW, and after reading topics he realizes that he didn't understand those terms!
You either explain him, or suggest him use the search function.. New members should be treated more warmly, they are new and they are "supposed" to mistake.

You will see that good questions get answered very thoroughly here, but there is no patience for questions that have been answered x^nth times and can be answered by searching either on this forum, google, or wikipedia without the need for repeating a thread that has been duplicated time and time again.

Where is talk of the responsibility of new members to act with propriety and do their research before raising their hand and asking the teacher a question that was covered in Chapter 1 of their textbook? Look what the coddling of members has done to other forums.

New members should be treated more warmly? All members here are treated the same, trust me.

Furthermore, it's 2013, not 2003 anymore. If you don't understand at least what the terms BH and WH mean, or you can't infer their meaning simply by browsing the sections of this forum, what hope do you have in the industry? At that point it isn't a matter of being new, it's a matter of a lack of education, and no amount of warmth will replace the fact that your problem is not that you need to learn how to fish, it's that you don't even know what a hook or reel looks like. Why even go fishing if you won't be bothered to study first?
