The title pretty much explains it all but im looking for the difference between Web2.0 profiles and properties? Probably a pretty newb question but can't learn without asking some questions. Also if someone could tell me the difference between wiki sites and wiki backlinks? Thanks in advanced for your thoughts and opinions.

This is a web2.0 profile in Elgg platform:
Code:
[URL]http://brickfilmersguild.com/elgg/pg/profile/thefourmonkeys[/URL]

and web 2.0 property you can consider every wordpress or blogger blog.

I hope this help

Web 2.0 profile is generally the user/author page with bio and link. A property is generally a blog or article and holds much more power.

A web 2.0 profile is your profile you setup on a web 2.0 site to put a link back to your site or other property.

PHPbuilt has a great list of web 2.0 properties here:

wikisites are sites which allow readers to add their insights and thoughts. they are editable. A wiki backlink would be a link on a wiki site thats pointed to your site. How you would get a Wiki backlink would be editing or adding good verified information on a wiki site and having a link back to your money site.

Thanks again for the info. I was going through a few of the services on here and they mention wiki sites and wiki backlinks as different things so I was kind of confused, but basically they are the same thing correct?

profile is 1 page url while web property can handle more then 1 urls connected with 1 domain name.

There are huge difference in web2.0 profile and web2.0 properties. Web2.0 properties allow you to add multiples page with articles and while the profile is one page link and you can't add long length articles. The web2.0 profiles only allow you to add short bio or about me text.

Is there any way one could differentiate a list of URL from Web2.0 Profiles & Web2.0 Properties?

They are one and the same

Web 2.0 property is what you call the entire web 2.0 (It's homepage, it's domain, it's content, it's profile .. everything)

Web 2.0 Profile is simply just the profile page of the web 2.0 .. So when you add a profile picture and a little bio/about us, you can add a URL back to your website

Links from within the content on the web 2.0 are more valuable than a link on the profile though, because they are contextual

So Web 2.0 profile is just a subset of Web 2.0 Property.
So I would also safely say that forum profiles are under Web 2.0 (or Web 1.0) Property.
How about social network profiles? Are they also under Web 2.0 profiles? (example myspace)?
