What is the difference between on-page and off-page SEO?

On page SEO refers to optimizing elements on your website such as content, title tags, description ,heading, keyword, internal linking and also page speed search engine to rank your site .Off page SEO focus action outside your websites like building backlinks ,guest post ,social signals, brand mention with increase your site authority and build trust in search engine.

Off page SEO means backlinks, mentions, authority signals from other websites you know... For me it worked focusing on strong backlinks and real website mentions. On page is like on site optimization of your website. It could be anything from content to ux to speed.
In my opinion both together build better rankings.

Trying to get a clear understanding of on-page vs off-page SEO for building better strategies.
On-page SEO is everything you do on your website to improve rankings: content quality, keywords, meta tags, headings, internal links, page speed, and user experience.
Off-page SEO is everything done outside your website to boost authority and trust: backlinks, social signals, brand mentions, and guest posts.
Think of it as: on-page = how well your site is built, off-page = how trusted your site is by others.

The main difference is that *on-page SEO* focuses on optimizing elements within your website, such as content, keywords, meta tags, and internal linking. *Off-page SEO*, on the other hand, involves actions outside your website like building backlinks, guest posting, and brand mentions to improve authority and rankings.

From what I’ve seen, on-page SEO is mostly about getting your own site in shape (content, keywords, structure), while off-page is more about building trust through backlinks and mentions.
