Article submission is when you submit an article to article directories like ezine or article base. You can usually put anchor text in your resource box at the end and get a back link from your article to your moneysite from there.

Directory submission is when you submit your website name and details to be included in their list of websites. Think of this as a yellow pages of websites. Because their are thousands of directory websites you can (or outsource) submitt your site to many. You can usually get a back link from directory submissions in the same way.

Directory submission breaks out into branches like article submission, video submission, etc.
