What is the difference between a landing page and self host site?

In point of make money? I feel self host is much flexible, both need to paid. Am I Moises somthing?

I don't quite follow how you've been a member of this site since 2012 and don't know what a LP is. Self hosting/landing pages are both covered in detail on the link I sent you earlier.

A landing page can also be a self-hosted site.

The primary reason why a lot of marketers choose to use services that allow for landing page creation and hosting is because it merely simplies the process for creating multiples.

A self hosted site (the way you're referring to it) is generally a blog, or an informational site. It's objective is usually to educate the prospective customer about your brand and what it has to offer, and even to educate them on some of the topics within the industry.

A landing page can also be referred to as a squeeze page. These pages have no navigation bars, it usually has an offer of some sort, the sole purpose is to get the prospective customer to complete a Call-to-Action (enter their email address, Make a purchase, download an app, etc.). The prospective customer has 2 options, they are to either complete the CTA, or they are to leave.

It gets a little more intricate after that, the landing page can send people through a Funnel of other landing pages that are considered Upsells, Downsells, One Time Offers, etc. all seeking to do the same thing... to get the prospective customer to complete a specific CTA.

You can create landing pages and funnels on a self-hosted site, it just requires a LOT more work and effort.

I never used Landing Page, but most of those pages seems with awful design.

I will go self host coz I know PHP, I can add more tricky code in it .

What makes you say this? What are you looking at?

A landing page is a crucial element of many marketing campaigns for affiliates. You could have the best product or service in the world, but a poor landing page will hurt your conversions.

Maybe I did search not enough, I am searching hard.

I believe you may need to re-read my comment prior.

A landing page can be made in any standard programming language, or you can use a tool to generate a landing page for you.

However, the difference between a standard website and a landing page is the objective.

"What is my site/page looking to accomplish?"

"Am I looking to teach people about my product or industry?"

If yes, create a standard website. This is for informational purposes.

"Am I looking to have people perform a specific action? For example, opt-in using their email address."

If yes, create a landing page using standard programming languages OR a secondary tool that will generate a landing page.

The difference is that you are looking to either inform people, or you are looking to convert them.

They both serve 2 different purposes.

Landing page is not a complete site but a site that has only one page using for some specific .

Code doesn't matter in a LP, its structure & copywriting does. Sure, there are tricks to increase conversions which might require some custom code, but those come later.

Yes, you're right in a way. It's basically telling the visitor that you don't want to give them too many choices.

They only have the choice to commit to your Call to Action or they can leave.

You still do need to structure things in a way that leads the visitor to buy, but that would be considered "Conversion Optimization"

Plus, don't think of it as only a sale in terms of $$$. Think about selling someone the idea of opting into your email list, so that they may receive more information.

Or

Sell them on the idea that they should download your app, or register for your website.

In essence, you are exchanging something of value for something that you want from them.

The landing page essentially just puts them on the spot to either do it now, or not to do it at all.
Think of it as kind of a filter, you weed out the people who were of no value to you to the people who are of value to you.
