What is the best WordPress theme for blogging?

I'd prefer GeneratePress. It's lite and fast.
 
Personally for blogging I prefer Astra, GeneratePress, and Kadence. They’re lightweight, fast, and SEO friendly. All three have solid free versions, but the paid ones offer better customization. Out of the 3, I like GeneratePress Premium for its speed and clean layout the most.
 
I use wpastra and hello theme. Hello theme needs elementor , hello theme is just a placeholder theme, not really a theme. Everything is done in elementor.
If you are just blogging the wpastra is enough.
 
If it’s just for blogging, GeneratePress is probably your best bet. It’s lightweight, fast, and doesn’t break stuff when you start scaling. I’ve used both the free and paid version, the free one’s already solid if you keep things simple.

Astra is decent too but tends to push more bloat with its starter kits. Personally, I stick with GeneratePress and just pair it with a clean SEO setup
 
In the paid version, there are a lot of options available at your fingertips. But as a free user, you can use the Kadence or Blocksy theme.

I personally use these two themes for most of my projects. The Blocksy theme is nice, it enables you for more optimization compared to other paid versions.

I’ve seen a lot of good mentions here thanks everyone for sharing. Has anyone tested Blocksy vs Kadence on Core Web Vitals lately? Curious which holds up better under load.
 
I work with many different themes. What I choose is solely based on the niche I am working with. I will say that I work closely with news and magazine-style themes.
 
I have used both free and paid themes, but GeneratePress Premium is the most consistent in terms of speed, stability, and SEO. For niche affiliate sites, I have also had good results using Popcorn. It really depends on your setup, but lightweight always wins in the long run.
