Digital Ocean and vultr are both my favourites, I have managed a lot of my private (and also business) projects with them, specially Digital Ocean.

You could ask a 1,000 people and get a ton of different answers. while one host may be great for someone may not be the best host for you. Take your time and do some research. keep backups of your data and you will be good to go.

I also have to agree with mr centex man, take some good quality time out of your day and research hosting providers. What works for someone else may not work for you.

It's true OP. Just go through your end. Google it you'll get thousands of hosting services, check reviews, match with your criteria and go for it. May be you'll loose in starting but after a day you'll get what you want.

Its depend on yours according to your Requirement. I feel safe with hostgator.

What are your requirements in terms of specifications? Your needs in terms of features? What kind of site? What's your market (where most users come from)?
Lots of people here mention to host with vultr and digitalocean but these would require you to know how to administrate your own server which is not ideal for everyone.

Linode, DigitalOcean, and Vultr are best options for novices. They are affordable and reliable. Especially, Vultr and DigitalOcean have an easy to use interface.
