Is it possible to just use do follow backlinks, or would google find that fishy ?

It wont appear "natural". Natural backlinks would have combinations of no follow - do follow, your-keywords, "click here", "here", socials, bookmarkings etc. I guess it is fine if you have like 10 backlinks, all of them are do-follow, but 100 do follow with no follow will look fishy.

You probably want to have some nofollow links in the mix just make your profile look natural.

It is not natural for a site to have only d0f0ll0w links, you will get an unnatural link penalty.

There is a certain ratio of Do follow and No follow links like if you get 10 do follow links you should get 3 No follow links at least. That's the fact.

Its not good to use only one kind of link. Its better to use all kind of links for your link building campaigning. Google likes it.
