Hey all,
I found an interesting niche where I might build a website for. But I want to make sure that the niche is 1.) profitable (affiliate marketing) and 2.) the niche isn't too small (in terms of traffic in that niche). Which tool (can be paid or free) would you recommend in order to get a good overview / to analyze the niche? Maybe you can even recommend videos / tutorials around this topic? Any help is appreciated!

Ahrefs can answer both of your questions regarding niche research.

But, basically, to find out if a niche is profitable you look at the CPC rates for the keywords. If the CPC is high it means that advertisers pay money in this niche, which further means that if they pay money the niche makes them money which means = profitable.

Also, you can check for niche-related products on big networks like CJ, SaS, CB, etc. and if you see at least several quality products that have been generating money continuously for years it means - again - that the niche is profitable because people continue buying those products for years.

There might be more ways to check the profitability of a niche, but these are the ones I know of and which are good.

And regarding question #2, just make a list of the 10-20 broad (1-word and 2-words) keywords of this niche, put them in a keyword research tool like Ahrefs and if you get 100s of 1000s of keywords that are closely related to your seed keywords it means that the niche is big enough for you to tap into.

And as a general rule, these niches and their sub-niches are always HUGE niches you can get into (and they're also profitable):

- health & fitness
- medical
- pets
- finance
- education
- technology
- self improvement
- relationships

Any of these niches you get into you are bound to make money with for years to come if you know your SEO / affiliate marketing

For me, check traffic to the niche. If you can get the traffic you can monetise it.

Here are the yields for a high competition niche between some major tools.
You tell me which one is doing a better job. :)

In a world full of Ahrefs nuts... it's the middle of the road. >.<
I'm honestly impressed by SpyFu... I had no idea...
The two cheaper services are killing it, apparently.
