Yoast and Rankmath both gets the job done. It's not a big deal, once you get the hang of how it works, you can easily optimize your work without those addons.

Best SEO plugin is speed. Which you gain when you remove all plugins.

Recently changed from Yoast to Rankmath and it was a wise choice. it’s easy to use, clear, and support has been outstanding. All that for a free plugin, I am impressed.

been telling people this since a long time as plugins usually slow down your sites, just need security and image plugins and the rest can be done manually

This is true, but you do need some plugins that will help you in SEO, they make life much easier. I am seeing sites that are ranking and need 10-20 seconds to load, and those basic plugins doesnt slow site that much. I install like 15-20 plugins per website, and my loading speed is usually under 2 seconds, so having a couple % slower site to have easier time doing SEO is worth it. Most of people who do SEO dont have time, will or knowledge to do it manually.

Of course there is more to this story, but for most people I would recommend to use plugins but they should also optimize website as much as possible. Find a sweet spot.

I personally use Yoast and it works good at my end.

Last 8 months I am using SEO Framework but I wouldn't say a had any troubles with Yoast. SEO Framework is really multi-functional. The problem is... most of the features are cool, but I don't use.

Never used Rank Math but looks pretty good, am thinking to give a try.

we are using Yoast last 3 years, so obviously yoast is best one

I recently decided to check the source code for a very popular plugin.

It is like tens of megabytes.... All those hundreds of files get compiled every time someone loads a page.

Some plugins come with a PHP framework inside them. It's crazy.... Some functions could be implemented with a single PHP and a few lines.

Best move is to remove as many plugins as you can. Your site will breathe a sigh of relief.

You can get a 98 google speed score even with a couple of SEO plugins in your site, it’s not that big of a deal mate, you’re making it seem like it adds 5 seconds to your loading time
