I see free hosting all over the place, so it's hard to tell if they are good or not. What are the best free hosting accounts without advertising, that are fast and reliable. Mysql database is not required.
nova*host dot org is the best I found by now, you must wait a few days till they make your account but is worth it.
x10hosting is pretty good i've found Bit of a pain in the ass to register and whatever, but id say it's worth it, always works fine for me.
0fees.net is also very good, I have been using them for a while now. Also if you dont mind paying a small fee such as $5 for MySQL activation, then 110MB.com is by far the best free hosting, they are even better than the paid ones. very reliable

there are actually no-best FREE hosting.. it has its flaws.. but im using freehostia and 000webhost... hope this added to what youre seeking for
x10hosting should be removed from here, it is not ad-free. @etherealm i have found some free hosts to be better than some paid hosting, for example i have a website on a free hosting 110mb.com and it is doing better than my paid hosting, my paid account is such a pain, there is always some problm with it. and 000webhost redirects to 0fees.net @forgot x8web.com no longer exists
You could try hosting on wordpress.com. Easier to get your stuff ranked, as their service has built-in authority with google. Also, try squidoo and similar services.
wordpress does not allow any ads such as adsense. freehostia does not have hot linking support on free accounts. 000webhost like i said redirects to 0fees.net
