What is the best commenting system

What is the best commenting system? There are several factors to be included:

1. Are the comments indexed by search engines?
2. Does the system have good design and is it user-friendly?
3. Does the system require registering?
4. Does it have enough features?
5. Does it allow anonymity?
6. Does it look good with your website's design?
7. What kind of an audience you have?

- Most commenting systems are indexed by Google. Even Facebook comments. Indexed comments are not always a good thing - they can seem too spammy (have too much links), they can be off-topic, they can include curse words... All of this is manageable with some moderation features but you still need to be aware of all the comments that are being posted.
- The CS design depends on your website's design. If you have a simple, minimalistic design then the default WordPress CS would be great since it doesn't have a very diverse design. But if you have a "powerful" website design (like most Magazine style sites have), then I wouldn't go with the default WordPress CS.
- It's rare that a comment system will allow anonymity. For the most part, you have to register a new account or connect your social profiles just to comment, which is a hassle and a privacy issue. Allowing anonymous comments requires A LOT of moderation and attention, but with anonymous comments you get more comments in quantity
- Some CS lack features, like the default WordPress one. One of the most important missing features is Rating.

IMO, using the Google+ CS is obviously the best for ranking on Google, but you wont get more traffic. However, if you use the Facebook CS you will get a lot more traffic since the comments get seen by more people on Facebook too. Using Disqus is ideal if you want a lot of features and options for the users to interact, but you wont get more traffic like with the Facebook CS and you wont rank as good as with the Google+ CS. I would avoid the default WordPress CS unless I have a website in the WordPress niche. It is too minimalistic, you don't get rating features and you don't get more traffic from the comments. You can still use third party plugins to enhance the WordPress CS though.


So what CS are you using and why? What CS would you recommend for good SEO?

I'd have to say Disqus.

I have no preference tbh, for me the method I follow for this is to search my keyword in Google news with the filter to the most recent. I then look at every result and pick the best and most relevant pages that I would like backlinks from. Writing large very relevant and helpful comments which help their audience seem to always get approved.

I meant what's the best CS for you to use on your site, not where to comment on
Sorry if I wasn't clear enough

Oh sorry I skimmed over, and the one I use on my website is Facebook, mainly because I send traffic to my website from promoted posts.

I agree with this all the way. Probably the best one there is.

You know what? I really the Jetpack commenting system for my websites. I've tried out other commenting systems, but I was always disappointed by them; my audience never used the Facebook system, Disqus seems to have a loading issue, and websites using the default Wordpress commenting system just scream "Username: admin". Not too long ago, I even had a nice little discussion on one of my articles using the Jetpack commenting system and it not only looked pleasing, but it functioned correctly as well.

Small business owners, artists, audiophiles, people in legal trouble, perverts; it depends on the site.

We know facebook is getting more viral in this regard but more news and other reliable sites prefer the Disqus option to comment on their sites. However, LiveFyre is also another alternative.

According to trends.Builtwith.com/widgets/comment-system most popular comment widget is Akismet (but think because it is set up by default) 164 943, then Mollom 36 911, then Disqus 31 704. But in top 1 mln websites Akismet 38 475, Mollom 4 060 and Disqus 19 724. But this chart do not have Facebook and Google.
