What is the average conversion rate on cold calling website design?

    I am selling web design for $650, have a large and great portfolio, and offer ALOT of features in my package for $650.

    My entire focus is informational/e-commerce. I have a calling list in which 90% of the numbers direct me directly to the decision maker in small businesses.

    I plan on making 200 calls a day to customers. I am a good salesman.

    The only thing is I am against scripts. I prefer to just say "Hello, this is Tony from Websites, I am calling to check if your business needs a website for marketing purposes"

    Considering they probably receive a dozen calls and a dozen emails per day, probably not too good. I'd make a plan on how you can be different then the rest.
    Maybe tell them why their current page sucks. If you're a good salesman and convince them it sucks, you might be in luck.

    Low conversion rate for sure. But $650 for a website from a guy who can speak fluent English isn't a bad offer. I hope you get at least a couple clients from all those calls.

    With that question, I doubt you'll get anyone interested.

    I highly suggest having a basic script in place and reading this book (takes a few hours but it's invaluable).

    yeap, I don't think that anyone will be interested. The best thing would be to target specific niches and offer them specific solutions to their problems. I might be able to provide help with that and run together a JV if you're interested. Pm for more details!

    Cold calling is a tough racket. We tried it for web design services for a few months with little to show for it.

    I think trying to corner a niche would be one way to approach it. I think this could be a lot more effective in that you say here are a half dozen accountant websites we worked on recently (email links). On average, we've helped them see a boost in client referrals of 50%.

    People just inherently don't trust people who call them cold. I probably get a half dozen calls a day from various people trying to pitch me business services. I just tune them all out. We find that clients we get through basically any other channel (referral, paid advertising, social) are much more qualified and ready to do business. Regardless, I wish you luck.

    As the above said, target your efforts at a specific group of potential clients, to maximize your conversion rate per your effort.

    You might even use your own twist on 7878's method - which tailors a message to a defined target of prospects - then follow up with a call. Some calls might just come to you.

    update.... I now have a auto/power dialer software on my cell phone and bluetooth. i can make calls anywhere.

    I have a large list of businesses that usually sole proprietorships as well, so I almost ALWAYS reach the owner.

    I am going to be making at LEAST 500 daily calls, but close to 800 as I shift around with timezones. how much business should that bring me? no scripts no bs, i can sell, i just need a number.

    i have gotten leads off of cold calling before just straight up offering people a website, because theres always the odd guy who already wanted one in the first place.'

    update** i made 300 calls on Friday and did land a few leads.

    I think it's said less than 5% of the population is looking to buying what you're offering at any time. So I would say anything around that number is good.

    my companies are getting daily tons of phones and emails with this kind of offers and to say the truth there is only one kind of emails /phones i'm listening to which are marketers who spent some time on my websites and really found some improvements which can be done.This shows that they actually visited your website and checked it instead of talking their nonsense jada down.
    So if you want to listem to you talk directly about their websites and what you would recommend to improve for imporiving their conversation/rankings/trust etc
    To make it more attractiv give them the possibility to split the cost into 3 months as its way easier to decide to spend 3 x $215 than instantly $650

    When you are calling and want to set yourself apart from the crowd. Create a mock to show them what they are missing.
    I enjoy cold calling. Its always a challenge but rewarding because you never know what'll happen.

    Try coming in at a lower price on the front end and then having a really good upsell funnel where you can make all of your money. By offering a really low front end price you can get a lot more customers and ultimately make more money.
