What is SEO (Search Engine Optimization)?

I feel that I need to apologize for my previous post. I promised myself that I would not flame or demoralize newbies for any questions they ask no matter how silly the question may seem.

But in my defense, asking that question on this forum is like asking "What is a mouse?" on a computer forum. So I will not lose any sleep over my somewhat smart-ass remark. That being said.... I am going to help you out because we all were newbies at one time or another.

At the very top of the left sidebar is a search box. You can type anything you want into that box and get some kind of result of threads related to that term. But, sometimes your better option is to use the search box on your browser.... Google, Bing, Yahoo or whatever could have answered this question very easily.

Since you have done asked... Go here: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/f30-white-hat-seo/ and read the first 5 stickied threads to get an idea. From there you can search in google or on this forum to get answers to any questions. For God's sake and for your own rep, do that before posting another thread asking questions like this.

BTW: post in the right section the next time, and I hope I didn't just type out this post for some fucking bot!

P.S. You better be glad someone didn't give you a link to the "dick roll"!
