1. Datacenter Proxies
Datacenter proxies use IP addresses provided by cloud providers or hosting companies (AWS, OVH, Hetzner, etc.). These IPs are not tied to real residential ISPs.

2. Residential Proxies
Residential proxies route traffic through IPs assigned by real Internet Service Providers to home users.Key characteristics
- High trust score
- Real ISP ASN and geolocation
- Rotating or static options
- Lower speed compared to datacenter proxies
Practical use cases
- Web scraping on protected sites
- Account-based platforms
- Geo-specific content access
- Ad verification and SERP research
Limitations
- Bandwidth is usually limited or metered
- Cost is higher due to IP scarcity
- Performance varies depending on the end user’s connection
3. Mobile Proxies (3G / 4G / 5G)
What they are
Mobile proxies use IPs assigned by mobile carriers. These IPs are shared across thousands of devices through Carrier-Grade NAT (CGNAT).Key characteristics
- Extremely high trust level
- IPs rotate naturally
- Difficult to blacklist effectively
- Often slower and less stable
Practical use cases
- Social media automation
- App testing
- Platforms with aggressive fraud detection
- Scenarios where IP reputation is critical
Limitations
- High cost
- Limited concurrency
- Less control over IP rotation logic
4. ISP Proxies (Static Residential / Carrier-Hosted)
What they are
ISP proxies are residential IPs hosted in datacenters but officially allocated by ISPs. They combine residential legitimacy with datacenter stability.Key characteristics
- Static residential IPs
- Better speed than peer-to-peer residential
- Higher trust than datacenter proxies
- Limited availability
Practical use cases
