What is meant by PR? I understand that it is how high u appear on google results. However, I do also know that there are different page ranks for different keywords so my question is, how is it actually calculated so that you can say the site ..... .com has a PR of 10 or 1?

PageRank is the amount of authority that Google gives you. That's the easiest way to put it. Newer sites have lower PR because Google doesn't "trust" them as much. Sites with a higher PR mean that they have more trust in Google's eyes.
