Hey Meathead.
I'm not sure if you consider adult websites or not. but I have an "alternative modeling website" I setup and i'm looking to get away from all adult related domains/websites. It's similar to godsgirls or suicidegirls. I currently don't have any model sites running currently though.
Creation Date: 19-jan-2007
I used minibb originally for the forum.. and then paid someone to setup the website around that.. the admin area is all controlled from the main domain.. but it's setup so each model has their own domain.. and they are all networked together through the main domain. from the admin area you can add in new model domains and add their photo and video sets.. and it uses verotel currently for the membership fee's. I talked to dwolla and they're fine with me using them as a payment processor. I could probably change it over to that before selling.
I ended up making around 2k in 6 months from the membership fee's from the first model site. never put up any ads or monetized it any further. Also I know 2k is low, but I never promoted it either.. it was just from her friends on social sites. The main model ended up getting in a custody battle so I just shut down the entire website and never really got it back up and running. I've sold her content back to her. I do have 2 other models that have submitted 1 photo set a piece.. so that can be included with the sale. 1 of the models is fairly new and wants her own site setup.. but I'm just not interested anymore. I have a photo release form and ids for the 2257 already for her as well.
I have a bunch of accounts on various sites to go along with the website.. modelmayhem, youtube, myspace, etc.
anyways.. I have no idea if you are even interesting in trying to flip an adult website like this.. but it's not hardcore, no penetration or anything like that.
if you can or know of someone you could put me in touch with.. it would be much appreciated if you could contact me via PM and i'll give you more details.
As you probably already know, adult sites are generally much more difficult to sell than those in other inches, mainly because most bigger marketplaces don't allow this kind of sites to be listed, as well as because most investors aren't interested in sites like this.
That said, there's a ton of adult industry forums around (such as GFY) so you can try listing there and hopefully you'll find not only someone who wants to buy the site but someone who is willing to pay based on the coding and the potential, rather than the revenue figures, as the revenue-based valuation would be extremely low considering the small-ish revenue the site generated along with the fact that it had downtime.
Either way, good luck with the sale!
My new website is all about latest PC & Video Games around, Game Tips & Gamers Guides, Game Videos, Forum and twitter page built in with 30k followers with the newest Gamers Accessories. Heavily monetized Started last moth with just UV=50 Visitors=600 this month till today UV=1200 visitors=3000 views=15k hits=50k If i try to flip it how much would it worth. Please review w w w dot gamersinternet dot c o m
You're missing the most important bit on info - revenue numbers. Without knowing this it is impossible to appraise the site.
Wondering what my main site is worth.
1. 6 months old - Daily Uniques 1.5-3.5k ( I'm indexed so well for my broad niche that I can make 1 post, and get an extra 1k a day viewers usually for a couple weeks if I phrase the title / keywords correct) I've been making about 100 a month from adsense (for the past 3 or 4 months) plus some click bank sales and CPA (maybe 25-50 more from these). I have a really good domain name I think, and it is in the niche of a nerd site (gaming, IT, Internet marketing, media, wallpapers, etc). The potential I feel with this site is pretty big, so I'm not sure if it is worth it to keep building it or toss it for some cash.
My alexa rating was at 130k for a while, and 60k in the USA. My traffic hasn't gone up or down too much and it has dropped backed to around 160-180k alexa world wide now.
If the site wasn't affected by Google's latest updates and it doesn't take a whole lot of maintenance then you can be easily looking at around 13-15x avg monthly revenue. With that said, given its decent traffic figures and the fact that you're confident about the site I would suggest you to hold on to it for now, try monetizing it a bit further (why not build a proper following, start a mailing list, etc.) and look into selling it again half a year down the line as then you could get a much higher revenue multiple and hopefully the revenue numbers that you'll put the multiple on will be higher too.
I have a site that is 6 months old and has $3,300/mo. revenue
Any idea on its value pls.
Thanks
I have a Toyota with a mileage of 34,000. How much is it worth?
Sure - the revenue figure is the most important bit of info when it comes to valuating a site but without knowing anything else (i.e. what type of site it is, how much maintenance it requires, where does the traffic come from , how does it make money) it's impossible to come up with even an approximate number.
