Hello everyone. I started an apparel brand about a month ago and have been following the progress of some similar brands in my niche.
One company in question started their account/brand just 4 months ago and I had spent a lot of time looking at their page and posts.
When I first saw them they were at about 10k followers. About a week later I went to look at their page and they had blocked me, I never interacted with them so I'm not sure why they would have.
I am using my account manually, no following/unfollowing or anything spammy. Maybe it was because I use similar tags and I am competition?
I checked their page from another account and they were at 40k followers. It was 41k until yesterday and it jumped up to 51k today.
All of their followers look legit, and they have another account that's nothing but pictures people send in of them wearing clothes.
They don't appear to be doing any following/unfollowing or anything spammy. I can't find many mentions of them or any reason why they would get 10k followers over night after 2 weeks of less than 500 a week.
Do you guys think there is anything other than shoutouts that they are doing?
I should also add that I am at 400 followers. I am a designer and would honestly say the designs of my competitor aren't anything special.
