Basically it's a site that allows you to create a free blog
blogger.com
wordpress.com
weebly.com
soup.io
etc...

if you really are that curious, you can check the wikipedia article
blogs, social media sites, wikis, video and image sharing sites even ebay or fiverr, podcasts, forums, social bookmarking sites, feeds and those which don't belong to any aforementioned category like google maps, google docs, paypal, last.fm, dropbox etc. are all web 2.0
one thing is common in web 2.0 sites, they are all centered around user generated content and "sharing"

No. It means hosted sites you create by signing up to a main site. It does not mean free, and focusing on free is a poor strategy as the free networks outside the big three or four that are free always tank under the spam strain. Invest in them and they will be around for your hosted web 2.0 site to link to your money site.
You also have to ask yourself, if your new web 2.0 site is moderated, who is more likely to delete it as spam, the network that's free and straining under the crap people submit, or the network you just invested in?

Such an prudent correction. Well,that was my answer because I was taught that way. You see, I've built web 2.0s on free blog sites only. Mainly because it was free and I don't have to spend money on it. Maybe that explains why I see web 2.0 that way.

This is the correct answer. Web 2.0 isn't about blogging it just so happens that most of them are blog sites but that's not what it means.

Does Web 3.0 even exist in the first place?
If it does then wouldn't there be Web 4.0, Web 5.0, Web 6.0 so on and so forth?

Basically any website that isn't static HTML is web 2.0 imho.
