think of battery juice, which refers to battery power.
eg. my battery ran out of juice = my battery ran out of power.
so link juice means link power. It is the power an (incoming link/backlink) is giving your site. Link juice helps to boost your site in terms of search engine rankings.

Say your website is blabla.com and you are selling bla bla.
You have a link on a different website (blogger for example) titled bla bla and when you click on bla bla it goes to your site at blabla.com
Now throw up about 50k of these links and There ya go!

proper definition of link juice: the power of a link going to your money site. a backlink with high PR (high power) or a backlink containing backlinks of its own has strong linkjuice power.
