Hi guys,

I want to know what is exactly KPIs (Key performance indicators) in seo. I googled and found something like its an alternative to pagerank. I need more info on this. ANyone?

Not sure if my answer is what you are looking for but the KPI's in SEO would depend on what you are trying to achieve. For example if you are talking about SEO when it comes to writing an article then you would be looking at things like KW density, heading tags used correctly etc.

If you and talking about SEO link building then again it comes down to how many links/quality of links etc.

And again if you are looking for an overall KPI then the rank of the KW's you are working on or even the traffic you are getting.

Sorry if I misunderstood your question.

Google artificially adjusting the pagerank of certeain sites. The important 7 SEO KPI's that we need to track for our sites. They are listed below

1) Unique keywords
2) Organic visits per page
3) Convertion Rate Per Keyword
4) Pages Indexed
5) Yahoo Backlinks
6) google Backlinks
7) SERP rankings for high volume keywords

Hope this helps.

If you are talking about KPIs = Key Performance Indicator and asking how that relates to SEO, I would have to say it depends entirely on what you are trying to achieve (pretty much what PinkBitz already said).

In working with SEO clients, the general KPIs are:

- increase in site unique visits
- increase in conversions
- increase in pages/visit and average time on site
- increase in goal conversions
- increase in keywords being ranked for
- increase in site awareness and branding
- increase in SERP positions (because most clients like to think they are "number 1" for something.....even if it doesn't mean increasing their bottom line...go figure)

Hope that helps.

KPIs in my company are the amount of targeted keywords that rank within the top 4 results as well as the amount of targeted keywords ranking on the first page.
