What is IP subneting? Is it important for digital marketer?

Can anyone help me understand what is IP subneting. Is it important for a digital marketer? I have a feeling it’s used for black hat purpose

IP Subnetting is a networking function. I don't see why this would ever be important for making money except in very, very weird circumstances.

The reason is subnetting is a network function within your own physical (mostly) domain of equipment. Changing this won't change how your equipment looks to Google or some other external entity, for example, trying to change your IP address. It will make the change internally but not externally.

I dont see a way subnetting could be linked with digital marketing. I have purchased subnets in the past, but for totally different reasons
