The holiday season started around that time.

The holiday season ends just about now.

Feb-March is when traffic picks up again

You'd be surprised. Altered holiday browsing does have a huge effect on searches, and dependent on niche, the drop can be as drastic as you're seeing. I had a kayaking site in 2008. In the winter, my traffic was literally halved.

What kind of SEO have you been doing on your site? Is it an EMD?

Another google slap. They are indiscriminate, and will affect anybody for any number of reasons, and they won't tell you why your site is affected because they are a bunch of pricks! How's that for an explanation ;) But seriously.... SEO is my bread and butter, but anybody that relies on just SEO for traffic these days is asking for trouble. You could have the cleanest white hat site with loads of original content that people want to see, and still get slapped for any number of reasons. Adjust your traffic generating methods accordingly.
