Dear members of Blackhatworld,

I'm facing an issue that frustrates me badly. Therefore I'm addressing this issue on here, in the hopes of getting some clarity about what might be going on exactly. Knowing at least something would be better than nothing, because right now I don't know anything whatsoever.

Right after spending thousands of Euros on FB ads to grow my pages a couple of days ago I received some strange 'warning' that told me I didn't follow the rules. It didn't tell me why or what happened, just referred to the community guidelines. I clicked on Okay and I went on with my day. Just thought it was a bug or misunderstanding. Until I tried to publish an article on one of my pages and I got the following error/notification couple of hours later:

"You can't post right now. To prevent any misuse, we temporarily restricted your account."

Has anyone ever had this notification before? This happens on all of my pages (I have several), but not on my personal timeline. I can't imagine me breaking the rules somehow, at least not on purpose so I'm really surprised about this one. I make a living from this so I'm not spamming or doing weird stuff. The pages I own are still online, the URL to my website still works and strangely enough I can still share 'stories' and within groups that I own everything works, including article links. All I can't do is share anything on the timeline on my pages. So that is kind of odd.

I contacted Facebook chat support later that day, and although the woman I spoke to was very friendly and spent an hour of her time investigating the issue, she couldn't help me out and had no idea. She forwarded it to some internal technical team whatever that might be.

All I'm hoping this is indeed temporarily, but who knows. It could never be restored. It's been over 24 hours. It doesn't tell me how long it might last or what rules I potentially have broken, which would have been useful because then I can keep it in mind. It would be truly helpful if there is someone out there having even a bit of an idea of what this might be, or had this notification before. All input is very welcome.

Is it me or has Facebook became way more strict lately? It feels like you need to walk on eggshells all the time, because they can ban you instantly. This seems to be getting more intense by the day.

Feel free to share your concerns about recent developments in this thread as well, it might give some clarity towards others. And of course, I would really appreciate it someone can point me in the right direction of tell me about what might be going on with my pages.

Wait some more time, may be it takes 24 to 48 hours or contact FB support.

Yes, I have already contacted them. They have no idea what is the matter themselves. Like I stated earlier I hope it is indeed temporarily and the ban will be lifted by itself.

Have you contacted with Facebook live chat???

Have you contacted with Facebook live chat???

They do that for copyright infringement. One of your image or video may have received a claim. Have you not got any email for the ban? They do send details in the email.

Yes, I have. The support agent spent a lot of time looking at the issue. Probably +/- 2 hours I've been chatting with the agent. She couldn't find the cause and forwarded it to an internal team, that has been a day ago now.

This is exactly what is so strange about all of this: I have received no feedback about what I've might been doing wrong. No reason was given, no email was received. It also doesn't tell me how long the ban lasts. It just stops me from sharing anything on the timeline of one of my pages.

If it's the first copyright claim ban on your account then it will expire in 3-5 days.

check your recent content and if the content could be flagged such as porn/copyright issue. I think you would not have posted any adults stuff but sometimes even silly things can be flagged. Try to delete and wait for a while as it could be a auto algo block.

Someone must have reported your content wait for it to expire

I've been sharing pictures every now and then since 2012, as long the ban is temporary I'd be glad. Everything is in their hands.

Thank you for your input, it is truly appreciated. I've deleted some recent pictures randomly. The notification says it is temporary so if it is correct that would be nice (in a not so nice situation). I've included a screenshot of the error for all to see.

Ye it most likely because of copyright infringement.

Could be, although reason has never been given. Do you expect the ban to be automatically be lifted? It's the first time this is happening to me so hopefully won't take a long time.

I guess I will stop sharing pictures and just share articles only. If I manage to get my pages back to normal eventually.

__ I will share updates here as well so anyone facing the same issues in the future will know how to deal with it

i don't know about IA but Adbreaks has been stricter since April this year.I myself was doing well for over 14 months untill a bunch of my pages were hit with various violations.

Having said that, i've never ran into "You can't post right now. To prevent any misuse, we temporarily restricted your account."

creator studio itself is buggy right now. maybe just wait it out or use another account.

It seems like Facebook got a lot stricter with several things during the past weeks. If this is your business like it's mine just use this as a lesson and be careful with any step you take.

They also banned my Ads account a week ago, which I managed to get back after explaining it happened for no reason whatsoever. Right after I completed a huge Ad campaign I got hit with this issue, so you can understand my frustration.

Regarding my pages, I can still share stories, like comments of visitors etc. etc., so it makes no sense. I haven't tried sharing links on my pages with another account. Family or friends. I'll wait it out and if the ban isn't lifted in a couple of days I'll give it a try. I don't know if the issue is related to my personal account or just to the pages I own...

It's been over 24 hours since this occurred so this isn't a simple 24-hour ban until now. Might take some time. I'm hoping max. a couple of days.

Also, if you're reading this and ever deal with an issue, be persistent with Facebook support. They forwarded this issue to Technical Support (an Internal team) and I simply hear nothing from them. So when you have some issues you're dealing with keep contacting support. You're dealing with different people all the time and outcome might be very different each and every time. Same goes for appealing or filling in forms/claims.

Facebook needs to die...Suckerberg has an average monthly sallary of 770.000 euro. All of that money comes from us, advertisers. And still, they fuck us more by every day. They ban pages,ad accounts, links, they disable, they restrict messenger, they do it without any notifications or warnings, they don't respond to our messages. They and their stupid automated system make soo many mistakes, so you can be fuked up even if you are pure white hat. They are very sensitive when it comes to dating, jobs and politics. Facebook profile or facebook page is not your own property, it's still their properly. And that's the main problem. There's no option for both sides to sign a contract so your page or profile can be safe, protected and not removed just like that. I belive they read our messages as well, nothing is private. I saw many examples, they are removing pages with 300k likes. And that's their point probably, they have the right to remove anything, at anytime. Complete facebook is like a big joke and no one is safe when it comes to business. And this new facebook look is shit already, we know that. It sucks. I truly hate them, and i hate them even more by every day. The only thing that's truly yours is your website or your own app. Send traffic from facebook and pay for their ads, but do not go back to facebook again. DO NOT rely on your facebook page, it's NOT safe. Once you have all those people out of shit facebook, redirect them to your website and app, make them sign up, take their emails and phone numbers, integrate a chat plugin on your site, stay in contact, ask people if they have other messengers like Skype or Whatsapp. Because facebook messenger is NOT SAFE. You will pay for ads and lose everything! Also, move to snapchat or twitter ads, they are cheaper.

I think someone reported your account, maybe some jealous

Update:

Decided to let you all know what has been happening in the meanwhile.

My account hasn't been restored, even on top of that my ad account was banned (once again) after trying to buy some news ads. I appealed but expect no reply, as I still haven't heard about the possibility to publish either.

I created another Facebook profile and made it an editor on all of my pages. Strangely enough I'm able to publish new articles with that profile. I'm hoping that in the future I will be able to publish ads with my new account, because that is of importance. But for now I'm sort of glad I can still do my thing like I used to, albeit with another profile.

Do not, I repeat, depend on Facebook only. Create as many platforms as possible to build your brand on.

Never take any picture or article that not belong to you and upload to Facebook. If someone reported you on infringement of copyright, FB will regards that very serious case. My friend got his page totally taken down over night and never can get it back until now.

He told me he got message earlier on some warnings and he tried creating multiple accounts to post until they caught him. He actually copy some news sites' news to report on his page and he suspected those news site reported him.

Thank you for the useful info. I was already rarely posting pictures, but I've stopped doing it entirely. I'll just stick with articles only. Although reason of my ban was never given, I suspect this has been the reason. As for the pictures I use with my news articles: those are paid for or copyright-free. And I always mention the source when that is the case.

I can still use my pages with another anonymous account I created this week. I'm hoping it will not get banned as I'm using it on the same IP. Perhaps not the brightest idea but all seems okay so far ...

I just need to think of a workaround with my FB ads. I think I'll give it some try with my new anon account, in a week or so. I have to make sure not to get banned so I'm not sure what to do. I guess using the same payment details I was using before won't work. Maybe create a new Paypal?
