What is considered Micro Niche?

Well it might seem that I have gone with a niche that isn't so micro. I might want to go with a micro niche but not sure what a micro niche is considered as exactly. I know it has to do with certain keywords that yield the most results PLUS low page count. The spec's I am not so sure of. I am looking for a ball park range though if some of you could help me. Is it less then 100k pages with the keyword, under 50k, under 10k, even in the 100's? Same goes with the keyword. Am I looking for one that is searched 90K a month, 200K a month? This is what is getting me confused. Thanks

I see. I only ask because I hear all the time that people are able to get to the #1 ranking in THEIR micro niche in between a week and a month, even for beginners. Just trying to look at what I should target. Thanks for the reply, that helps me get a better perspective.
 
Instead of just TV, it would be like Toshiba 42 inch TV, and you can even go into more detail then this, lots more detail !

DirtBikes a sub niche

Motocross another sub niche

Motocross Helmets is a Micro niche
 
Thanks. So it's basically being more exact with what product or idea you will use. Also, I have a hosting provider that I have wordpress on. Should I use that host for one main site, and use free blogs to direct to that site? Or host all blogs on my host?
 
Yes, but also be carefull because you might get in trouble !

No, People have been saying the have had to bring there blogs down on alot of PS3 stuff !

Ya, I seen it on a post on this forum !

The person {Can't remember who} but ya they were talking about someone had PS3 in there URL name and had to take it down !
 
AHHH, ok yeah. That situation seems realistic. I can see why. Maybe lose the domain but not the whole hosting provider. They probably "BOUGHT" acronym, not sure if that's possible, or was acting like an actual Sony Website.
 
Well I don't think you can use the name PS3 legally !

What if you used it in a sub-domain like http: //ps3.name-of-your-website. com ? I find it hard to believe Sony would harrass you for that.
 
Like I said, you would just have to look in to there copy rights !
 
it is highly concentrated on a certain niche like "blue floor mats". Competition for floor mats would be high but for something very specific you can rank much easier.

The main difference between a niche and a micro niche depends on the competition of a keyphrase or heyword. If a a keyphrase get a SERPS page count between (about) 30K and 500K is a niche, if the result is lesse than 30k is a micro-niche.
 
According to the 30 Day Challenge, a rule of thumb for finding a micro niche is if a phrase match (keyword in quotes) produces less than 30,000 results.

A micro niche can also be described as a niche of a niche. So, "tennis" is a market, "tennis rackets" is a niche, "[adidas|womans|mens|shiny] tennis rackets" are micro niches.
