All black hat SEO means is that we try our best to not play by the conventional rules of search engine optimization, we find loopholes in there system to gain the competitive edge over our competitors on the SERP aka (search engine results page). White hat SEO (search engine optimization) marketers would not take part in the same activity's to gain the competitive edge as we do.
A lot of people get black hat hacking and black hat SEO mixed up, thinking that black hat SEO marketers are in some way black hat hackers (witch is not the case most of the time), but in a lot of cases they actually are, but not all of us. (Most are referred to as Ethical Hackers and they bring us some great exploits ) black hat hackers are the ones that will steel you identity and your bank information, and black hat SEO marketers just like to screw the search engines so we don't have to dump a pile of cash into our projects to win.
